Yeah, we just saw a TV commercial for it, and it caught both of us by surprise. It actually looks pretty good--there were lots of Obi-Wan & Anakin bits, and they looked tons better than any of the scenes in AotC.
That was my initial assumption ... I was going to quote a bit where he said "there's so much more money to be made many more stories to be told" but didn't want to harsh the squee you might potentially have had.
You know, I totally get the shock and horror, but considering that my kid practically starts vibrating at the mention, my own position is a little more complicated. :))
I've been right here, man. I was in the UK for Episode III and then I came back here and I've been watching TV and going to the movies and going to work and reading the Post same as everybody else. I don't read the fansites, but my point (in a post I just made) is that for a Star Wars feature film one shouldn't have to.

(OK, yeah, it's Lucas. Still.)

I know, that's not saying much.

(I imagine my son will be a bit of both -- he loves the franchise but hated the prequel-3 and is a wee bit pissed at Mr. Lucas.)

Actually, some of the earlier animated stuff out of the prequels was pretty good, so I'm not instantly dismissing this one. Must wait and see.

Personally, I like the animation from the Clone Wars cartoon better.

I agree, it has been pretty low key. I wonder if the entertainment press hasn't been discussing it because:
A) It's an animated film from a studio other than Pixar and Dreamworks
B) The Prequels may have soured the media against all things Star Wars
I most likely will wait to see this one on DVD.
