It's kind of ridiculous. But I mention it specifically because A and D call the artistic (regular, real) gymnasts as "flippy girls". :-D (To complete the set, I guess the trampolinists would have to be called either "jumpy girls" or "bouncy girls"; I can't decide which I dislike less.)
I think the newness and the datedness are related. (It's been in the Olympics since 1984, with the group competition since 1996.) Note how the leaders are all Russians (and former Soviets); I suspect it's really taken off since the state of "real" gymnastics has moved on past the old Russian style that used to be what did all the winning.

Rhythmic gymnastics is so strange. It's a relatively new sport but it seems oddly dated to me.
I'm not sure about the trampoline? "Boing-y girls"? Maybe "bouncy girls" is the best, it's hard to find something without any Man Show overtones.
