i'll tell you what

My day didn't get an awful lot better -- a bit, but not a lot -- and soon I have to head off to a rehearsal I don't especially want to go to, although as I said to [livejournal.com profile] sanj earlier today I suspect I won't hate it much once I'm there.

On the plus side, I have Green & Black chocolate. I know you'll scoff because I have some milk chocolate and some white chocolate (I can just hear [livejournal.com profile] the_emu now: "Why would you want chocolate with all the chocolate taken out?") and nothing dark, but I'm not sorry, and I do like that their milk chocolate is 34% cocoa while most others' are 33%. That extra single point makes a surprising amount of difference. (Even the white chocolate is 30%. I put cream in my coffee, too. I refuse to entertain the suggestion that this makes me in any way weak, wrong, or other words beginning with w.)

I miss milk chocolate. When it's good, it's SO GOOD.

I will enjoy it vicariously through you, I guess.

A number of years ago I went off dairy completely for a month when the doctor thought my lactose intolerance might in fact be a casein issue. (It wasn't.) It was really, really difficult -- logistically as well as emotionally, in fact. Which is to say: I feel your pain. Even if I only feel it a little bit. [patpats]

Thanks. You get used to it, really. Most dairy foods don't look like food to me any more, most of the time, which is convenient. But chocolate still looks like chocolate!

Winsome? Can it make you winsome?

post hoc, ergo propter hoc

I'll take winsome, but I don't think it's anything to do with my preference for light coffee. :-)

How about wiggly? Wholesome?

I don't think I'm especially wiggly. Nor wholesome, really, but to the extent that I am, see above. ;-)

Green and Black's milk chocolate is my favorite. I don't care for dark chocolate--it's too strong for me. All the chocolate snobs can piss off; they should just be happy they have all that dark chocolate for themselves!

[identity profile] darthfox.livejournal.com 2009-01-27 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
I like it fine, sometimes, but it wasn't what I wanted today.

I am sorry it's been a Day! I hope singing and chocolate improve matters somewhat.

I was right about rehearsal -- I didn't want to go, but once I was there I didn't mind being there. And Hindemith is awfully hard to sight-read, but I was doing okay. I do like feeling like a Reliable member of my section. :-)

Tomorrow is my first day of Yiddish class. So even though I'm disastrously behind (number of Hebrew letters I can confidently identify: about a half-dozen, but it's only because I know both shin and sin, f'rex, or I know reysh because it's not yod, or I know mem because it looks like an N, and shlos mem because I will always confuse it with samech), it will be a better day. Hurrah!

Hooray milk and white chocolate, and hooray for standing up to the chocolate snobs who disapprove of them! I knew you were my favorite for a reason. *g*

Hey, I have just the thing to pick you up! Next time I see you I'll have a copy of my recently acquired CD: Forbidden Broadway Goes to Rehab ;-)

[identity profile] darthfox.livejournal.com 2009-01-27 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
God, I keep having flashbacks to that Harry Potter/Equus number. It doesn't get any less upsetting in retrospect.

[identity profile] jgesteve.livejournal.com 2009-01-27 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
I'm kinda bummed that the [title of show] parody didn't make the CD :-( but Harry Potter is on there, perhaps I should burn you a copy that doesn't include that track?

[identity profile] darthfox.livejournal.com 2009-01-27 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry about [title of show]. But would it really have made sense on the CD? I recall the joke being so visual there.

And: no, I'm a completist, copy the whole damn thing. I'll skip it if I can't stand it. :-)

[identity profile] jgesteve.livejournal.com 2009-01-28 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
You're likely right about [tos] and if I recall it was a little profanity laden as well.

You're of the iTunes-ian persuasion, ya? I'll zip up the M4As for you and send 'em your way :-)

White chocolate has its place. White chocolate and dark chocolate together in one bite is heaven.

Back in the chocolate shop days, in the broken chocolate drawer, all the easter rabbits and chicks had their eyeballs eaten first. Dark + white = mmmmm.
