sunday, eventually

I did go back to bed, if anyone was worried, and slept for another two and a half hours. Woke up much less headachey, and impulsively decided that what was making my pillows smoosh down and not fluff back up again might be the allergen-filtering pillow-subcases my allergist encouraged me to put on almost a year ago. Yes, I've been frustrated by this for almost a year, but it was only this morning that it occurred to me that in fact I may not need new pillows at all. Took them out of the allergy bags and sure enough, they bounced back much better. I think I will not put them back on. The dust mites won't kill me, but the neck cramps might.

Anyway. Then mallrat fun time with [livejournal.com profile] sanj and [livejournal.com profile] ellen_fremedon, in which I found what seriously may be the best dress ever, and didn't buy it. Sigh. When I have an excuse or when it goes on sale (or, ideally, both!), I will buy it and it will be mine. Someday! And then we watched the Stratford Pirates, in which I got goosebumps a full two minutes before "Hail, Poetry" just knowing it was coming up, and the Pirate King was the customary level of awesome (it's the production I grew up with, so, you know, awesome, but it's fun watching other people see it for the first time), and the wedding-cake thing at the end of Act I was no less impressive, and [livejournal.com profile] sanj said "Plus I'm sure the rest of the sisters are thinking if they can get Mabel married off, everyone else can drop down a fifth, so maybe that's their investment in it." Hee!

Electric kettle is vinegar-boiled and working nicely. Tea is almost drunk. Off to bed on pillows that won't hurt me. Yay weekend.

I have found Your Dress online, but I can't find mine anywhere. I've found what I think is the same dress in blue and black, but [livejournal.com profile] sanj disagrees and anyway the style number is different.

Phooey.

Have you? I didn't find mine at all, nor yours -- I concluded they were recent enough that maybe the buy-online options don't have those styles in yet. Where were you looking?

I haven't found either of them anyplace you can actually buy them-- Nordstrom's and Lord and Taylor are both coming up blank. And google has not turned up anything for mine by style number, though I haven't exhausted every permutation of "JS Collections brown and white spaghetti strap short cocktail dress with scarf" yet.

However, if you just want to look at a picture, yours is at http://www.jscollections.com/, in the Spring 2009 collection, page three, second row, farthest left.

Closest I can find to mine on the JS Collections page is the blue dress in Fall 2008, page three, row two, second from the right. I think my dress was basically that one, in brown and white with a brown belt. But I may be misremembering some detail.

"Plus I'm sure the rest of the sisters are thinking if they can get Mabel married off, everyone else can drop down a fifth, so maybe that's their investment in it." Hee!

It's funny 'cause it's true.

Which electric kettle did you get? I've been thinking about buying one.

I got this one (http://www.target.com/Black-Decker-Brushed-Stainless-Kettle/dp/B001BOIIM6/sr=1-7/qid=1234194221/ref=sr_1_7/178-7647356-1586713?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k%3Akettle&page=1), mainly because it was the cuter of the two I was considering (the other being this (http://www.target.com/Aroma-X-Press-Stainless-Steel-Kettle/dp/B000KDVTJI/sr=1-9/qid=1234194425/ref=sr_1_9/178-7647356-1586713?ie=UTF8&pricerange=&index=target&field-browse=1038576&rh=k%3Aaroma%2Cn%3A1038578&page=2), which scored high for the flip-top lid, but lost cute points for the shiny finish that I felt would be fingerprinty almost immediately).
