doctor who: "the sound of drums"

Okay, Sci Fi rat bastards, I know you need to cut things here and there for commercials, but dudes.  DUDES.

For those of you who hadn't seen it before tonight, the cut in question was after the Doctor said "It's like when you fancy someone and they don't even know you exist." Martha blinks and turns and looks at Jack, and Jack says "You too, huh?"

Doesn't fucking Sci Fi cut to the next scene mid-blink.

[grumbles, shakes fist]

[eta:  But I do love the hopeful look that flashes on Jack's face after Martha teleports herself out of there.  Are there really people who say Barrowman is no good?  I think they're watching it wrong; when "Torchwood" is lousy, I blame the scripts.]

I'm fuming on the inside. Torchwood will never air in the US anyway, so it's less important that Jack have any kind of character depth. I'd be a lot angrier if they hadn't legitimately needed to cut things for time, and they'd cut it anyway. Then I'd be setting things on fire.

Actually, BBC America has been showing Torchwood on Saturday evenings. Tomorrow is the 4th episode. But not having seen the original BBC airings, I've no idea what, if anything, they've cut from them.

Quite right. Somehow I count them quite differently. :-) (For all I know, if they showed Series 3 they wouldn't cut the above line.)
