I just remembered that I haven't said anything about the Christmas special, which I watched on Boxing Day.  (I also haven't read many of your thoughts on the subject; I suppose I might, when I have some spare time today.)  I don't have an awful lot; basically, the crux of my reaction is "Dear Rusty:  I know this show is about the Titanic.  But I thought you should know that the Poseidon called -- it wants its Adventure back."

I was just BORED and then I started realising how it was only the white guys who survived (although that's another story)... And I think I genuinely liked maybe, 35 minutes of the whole first series of Torchwood? Mostly, I rolled my eyes at it and put up with it for lack of any better Doctor Who substitutes.

Fair enough, but two of the three white guys who survived only survived because they were ignorant cowards. (And the third survived with a belly wound.) The non-[white|guys] who perished were the heroes of the thing.

And, ah, Torchwood. It did have its moments, didn't it? Sigh. :-)
