drive-by update

have been at brother's place for a little more than 24 hours. travel-journal-type thoughts to be posted when i get home. have not yet fought with parents! (have also not talked about moving.) biggest note of excitement: difference from last year's memorial day trip. you remember that last year i woke up the morning after the first night on the air mattress thinking it was the most uncomfortable thing ever in the history of anything, and it turned out that the back pain i felt was actually due to an infected kidney. yeah. this year, the air mattress isn't precisely a bed of roses, but the kidney remains un-inflamed.
