A couple weeks ago a friend recommended the wondrous Salux cloth, calling it "the ne plus ultra of exfoliation". As exfoliating is relevant to my interests, I picked one up at the HMart the other day.

Friends, it is the ne plus ultra, the magnum opus, the sine qua non, and other Latin phrases as well. The price at that link is, at least here by me, misleading - mine was $3.99 instead of $2.99 - but otherwise, damn. It's not exfoliating, it's defoliating. It's a nylon kitchen scourer for your skin. It's scrubbing your face with the hooky side of the Velcro. It's awesome. Get to your nearest Asian grocery and get one today.

Oh, haha! Funny thing happened this weekend. My mother and I were shopping, and we stopped up in the lingerie department of Nordstrom, as is my custom - I always go and check out the sale rack, because bras in sizes that are useful to me are shockingly expensive. There is a big Event of some kind going on, and there are multiple sale racks - and can I find the size I'm after? I cannot. One of the girls finally saw me tacking about and asked if she could help me, and I said I was having trouble finding the size I wanted, because that rack said "32-34" and had only 32's, and this one said "34-36" and had only 36's, so where was a person to look to find 34? And she asked me what you'll agree, if you know me, is the funniest question I've ever heard. )

My parents were in town this weekend. Saturday night Mom and I went to see Back to the Future at the AFI; I haven't seen that thing on the big screen in twenty-five years, and we both went "oh my god, twenty-five years?!" Pretty sure it was the first first-run movie I ever saw in a theater (the first movie I ever saw in a theater at all was E.T., in the re-release). I was glad I'd looked in the movie listings and seen that it was there - and it was a good time, seeing poor Michael J. (no relation) before the Parkinson's got him, and much younger Christopher Lloyd, and oh, everybody! (Even Crispin Glover, that crazy SOB.)

Query: in the new-and-improved 1985, George McFly has published his first novel at the age of 47. What, then, has he been doing so successfully in the meantime? (And why do his older children still live at home, the way they did in the original sucky 1985?) Maybe he'd had a rip-roaring short story career? Does that buy a four-bedroom house in the LA suburbs and a BMW and whatever-all else?

I've been seeing this around and have finally decided to do it. Note that I make no promise that my answers will appear on thirty consecutive days.
