The Mary Sue meme
1. Use fanfiction.net's Search >> Story By Summary and look up your name in either Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. (this is one of two reasons why i would even go to ff.net. the other would be if evadne posted a new breadbox. see what i suffer for you all to be amused?)
2. If there are any Mary Sues that share your name, pick the worst-sounding one and post the summary.
The thing is that there are so many possibilities for Fox-es that have only incidental things to do with Mary Sue. For example:
Come one! Come all! There will be gifts for all in the fox hunt! A new chapter up! R+R!
or
draco's a fox, snape's a bat creature, and harry's a ferret? R&R
or
AU. Harry has been accused of a crime he didn't do and is sentence to life in Azkaban. He is then saved by a mystery woman with fox ears?
But from here out i will do the Mary Sue thing only. It's bad enough.

There were only two hits for "fox" in LotR, and one had to do with an author name and the other with a small creature -- no Mary Sue action there. So the above, I thought, was going to be the worst of it.
Little I knew.
I mean -- I never thought of my name as a particularly Mary Sue-type name! Did you? (I am not called Florabella or Aetheanaigh or anything random-ass like that. My name is quite ordinary, I thought.)

After which, I was terrified to put my real name through the LotR filter. But in fact there were only six hits, which can really all be summed up in #4:
Join [my name] as she helps the characters with their problems
[edit: great seafaring christ, it hadn't even occurred to me to run my middle name -- much more sueish, especially because of the spelling -- until i saw that that was whatlysrouge had done. surprisingly, there wasn't anything much in LotR on my middle name, and it only came back with six hits in HP, reproduced ( following. )
and, my personal favorite:
Rätselhafte Ereignisse und dunkle Visionen belasten Harry. Wer ist der unheimliche Mann, mit dem Voldemort spricht? Gibt es wirklich ein Vampirblut in Hogwarts? Welche Rollen spielen [my middle name] und Nathalie? Die Sache beginnt, außer Kontrolle zu geraten.]
