JUST KIDDING!
Jul. 9th, 2004 02:53 pmattorney, yesterday, 4:30 pm: so we want to get this stuff out the door tomorrow, but this thing needs to be done to it first, and we don't have time to have the vendor do it, but here's my question -- can you all do it before tomorrow's FedEx deadline?
me: sure, two of us can handle it.
this is about fourteen man-hours worth of work. between us, the non-translator temp and i can cover it in a little less than seven hours, i figure (because we're pretty smart, and i type 95 wpm).
this morning: we don't have the editing access we need, and once we get it (around 11 am) the database is running slower than i'd like, and of course other people don't stop calling me wanting other things, so, yeah, the progress is not as swift as one would hope. by 2:00 we're about half done (but the thing will need to be QC'd before being finalized before being sent out). i'm typing frantically. i'm looking at things and in a speedy-production groove and moving fast, and then the phone rings at 2:30.
attorney: yeah, they've decided not to send it out today. so, not that the thing doesn't need to be done! but the deadline is now monday at noon.
so i'm glad, you know, because that means i can relax for a minute. but, like, now my head hurts and stuff.
