just spoke to ellen_fremedon, who had the troubles you'd expect with getting a truck, etc., and didn't hit the road until 10 this morning, and has been making slow progress through the hills of pennsylvania. they'd just passed harrisburg a few minutes ago, and we're therefore estimating that she might roll up to the new place around 6:00. she's going to call me when she gets to frederick, which i estimate will give me enough time to get up there at the same time as or shortly after she does.

yeah, moving sucks, man.

the ellen has landed

ellen_fremedon is successfully installed in her new apartment. it's a good thing she doesn't have very much stuff that's very heavy, because even getting what she does have out of the truck and into the house was brutal in the christawful muggy evening heat. she and her folks decided they were, on balance, glad not to have arrived three hours earlier, as they'd planned, when the weather was just the same only ten degrees hotter.

the place is, unexpectedly, cable-ready, so she may have internet access sooner than anticipated. y'all should be hearing from her tomorrowish.
