pesky orange alert
Sep. 7th, 2004 09:41 amthere was apparently a Suspicious Package at the pentagon (constant vigilance!) this morning. the bus got to the exit ramp and sat there for, like, fifteen or twenty minutes, not moving, no information about the cause for the delay, and then finally when we got in all bus traffic was being routed to the upper level. i only heard about the Suspicious Package from a co-worker whose bus had also been delayed but whose bus driver had been more informative.
rar.
also, i realized, during the twenty minutes i was sitting and reading my book on the unmoving bus, that i hadn't closed down my e-mail before i left home. i can't get the Stealth e-mail here at work anyway, since the port is blocked, but this means i won't be able to get the Surface e-mail either, since it'll download to outlook every sixty seconds. le sigh. (of course it's probably better that it's not available to me, because if it were, i'd just check it all the damn time. we know me.)
