crossing the singing finish line
Dec. 8th, 2004 01:26 amcollege advent/carol service tonight, and that's the last singing i'm slated to do for this term. and i'm glad -- i love it, but five performances for three choirs in ten days is quite a lot, you know what i'm saying?
being that it was my own college tonight, a lot of people in theaudience congregation were people i knew. and they were very complimentary about the choir -- some people even used the word "excellent", which i think is a little generous; we were better than we had any reason to expect, but we were by no means much more than good, if that. (and when you only rehearse for half an hour a week, what do you expect? i mean, i'm not actually complaining.)
highlight of the evening: downstairs neighbor L, whom i know casually (speech is deadly -- devastating one-two combination of public-school accent and absolute deadpan delivery at all times) said to me, in the bar about an hour and a half ago, "[real name], i'm told you have an exquisite voice. is that true?"
