obsessed1 is cool

ah, obsessed1.  she's cool because she brings teh snark.  what else can i say?  :-)  she and i seem to share a general attitude, which is, If you don't have something nice to say -- come and sit by me.  (thanks, alice.)

behind the snark, though, beats a heart of pure gold, and because i am a slacker and have left this waiting to be posted for two months, i am in a position to report rock-solid evidence of that:  obsessed1 just cut off more than half of her hair and donated it to Locks of Love, which, let me tell you, when your hair is down past your waist, is not an easy thing to do.  i, for example, intend to do it one day; but it is not this day.  i applaud obsessed1's fortitude and coolness.

elance is cool

oh, where to begin, with the coolness of elance.

it is this:  she is definitely among the bravest people i have ever encountered.  her life when i first knew her was not how she wanted it to be -- aggressively so -- and she decided she was going to change that and then she did, which when you're coming from where she was coming from can't be an easy decision to make, much less an easy thing to do.  she encountered a lot of doubt from a lot of quarters (including mine -- i wasn't going to lie, when asked what i thought, was i?), and did it anyway, because she knew what she believed was right for her, and that is outstanding.
