glad to see that prince harry was free of swastikas for the occasion.
there was a thing in the washington post yesterday, on the subject of the wedding's postponement due to the pope's funeral, where Eugene Robinson said "Does a more thoroughly and amusingly jinxed individual walk the face of this Earth than Charles Philip Arthur George, Prince of Wales?" that's probably the best way to put it, really -- amusingly jinxed -- because no matter how it's sliced, it's pretty hard to think of the heir apparent to any throne as being unfortunate in any real terms. i mean, yes, in the world he moves in, he's been pretty unhappy for a lot of the time. (Robinson again: "The guy can't buy a break.") but when you look at the bottom line, anyone with the word "highness" in his or her name really sort of ends up in the "fortunate" column. i'm just sayin'.
it was a pity about camilla's second hat, wasn't it?
memo to charles: you're balding, your highness. no combover is going to change that. just cut the hair now, won't you, because that side part isn't fooling anyone. (you might also mention to your brother edward that the combback isn't a whole lot better.)
that said, both charles and camilla looked better than they usually do, actually. a beaming smile is a fabulous accessory. (memo to the queen.)
