west wing again

i didn't watch most of season 6, being, you know, out of the country at the time, but isn't there going to be an election this november?  and if so, haven't we lost a year somewhere?  by my calculations, season 6 was the third year of bartlet's second term, so season 7 should be full of campaigning like season 3 was, and the election should be in november of 2006, because the show is two years off from real life.  what's going on with all that?  am i completely high?

called the college doctor and made an appointment for tomorrow morning to talk about allergies.  i figure fairly soon i'll be subjected again to skin tests:  scratched with pins and swabbed with things designed to make me itch, so they can see how badly i actually tolerate them.  and then if it goes my way, i'll be allowed to deliberately get injected with allergenic substances a couple of times a week.  i say it's way better than taking two doses daily of one-a-day allergy medicine and still being itchy and sniffly.  today i've got it all -- eyes, ears, nose, and throat.  FEH.  i say bring on the immunotherapy.
