had a lovely afternoon in london with kaalee, and then after leaving her i was passing by the lyric on my way to the tube, and the box office was open, and i thought, what the hell, curtain goes up in fifteen minutes, so i got me a £17.50 ticket to see death of a salesman (with brian dennehy), which was, as you might imagine, superlative.

and now i am back home, and think i will have some tea.

there's a man in my shower!

omhg yay the guy has come to see what's what with the shower on my hall.  i was afraid the low pressure was something i was just going to have to live with, and they were going to call me a spoiled (more likely a spoilt) american, but the accommodation sec in the college office agreed the pressure wasn't very good, and the man from whatever maintenance outfit he's from is in there now and i talked to him on my way back to my room after lunch, and he said yeah, if you were a midget, the pressure might be all right, but the minute you raise the shower head up to a normal person's height, it's no good at all, is it?, and YAY because i was afraid even if they'd agree with me that the pressure i was experiencing was no good, the thing might happen where when you get the car to the shop you can't make it make the noise it's been making, and the mechanic thinks you're just nuts.

in short:  THE SHOWER IS BEING FIXED YAY.

the bad news:  it's turning out to be a harder job than he was figuring, so it looks like it might take about a week.

but i'm so glad it's going to be fixed that i almost don't mind it being out of commission for a week!  i mean, i do mind a bit.  but it's not like the shower at my old flat, where it was unavailable for over a week while they replaced the shower door, with which nothing was wrong in the first place, and this after telling us it'd only be a couple of days.  when there is something wrong, and they tell us ahead of time that we can't use it for a week, i get to focus on OMG SOON IT WILL BE FIXED.  :-D
