but i keep refreshing the news page to see if there's any hope that katrina will weaken, or wait another eight hours before turning north, or anything. i can't quite make myself believe how bad i know it's going to be. i think tomorrow (or, later today) i'm going to go over to my old building and see if Homegirl B (whose family fled inland from New Orleans in the past couple of days) wants someone to sit with her and maybe we can get a news channel with some current information on it.
