vacation is coming to a close -- there's been chatter in the inbox today about the first committee meeting of term, which is this coming tuesday.  (0th week!  so, you know, for values of 'term' -- anyway, i won't be there.)  am presently in WNY visiting the distaff relations.  yay for free internet in the room and not having to go to a lounge on the 36th floor (especially as this building has, i believe, four floors in total).  have made decent progress toward, although not on, my thesis.  more progress is to be made.  whee!

cold here, though.  have definitely been spoiled by hong kong (trip report still coming soon, i promise) and florida (baby pictures coming in some sort of locked format once i get back where my cable is).  feh.
