fox: arctic fox: time to hibernate (hibernate)
slept eight hours; got up to e-mail professor about rescheduling a meeting currently scheduled for thursday, because that's how wretched i feel; went back to bed for three hours; got up and took a shower and then my temperature.

temperature:  99.4 F/37.5 C.  keep in mind that this is hotter for me than for a lot of people, because i'm starting from about 97.4 rather than 98.6.  so the questions are these:

1.  i haven't drunk anything hot or cold or brushed my teeth or anything yet, because i know that affects the oral temperature reading.  i am, however, about five minutes out of the shower -- will that make the temperature read falsely high?

2.  i know about kids, oddly enough, but not about adults:  at what point do i call the doctor?

[eta:  going to the doctor tomorrow 11:30.  i called to ask if they thought i should come in, but the people answering the phones never know the answer to that question, do they.  still, if he says Rest And Fluids, at least i'll have got out of the house for a bit.  and with that, i am off to buy a humidifier.]

hmm.

fox: arctic fox: time to hibernate (hibernate)
was out, apparently, for approximately an hour.  moved some money from dollars to pounds, bought some whole wheat pasta (i eat so much pasta, i figure i might as well be getting some nutrients from it, right?), bought a humidifier.

am ... not exhausted, but i'll tell you what, i was thinking of putting on a sweater or at least taking my scarf, and i'm so glad i didn't.  it's about 45 degrees out, and with my t-shirt and jacket and long hair (and fever) it wasn't long before my forehead was all cold-sweat-y.  i still feel a little clammy; it may have been too much effort, as well, walking three blocks away and three blocks back again, and how much does that suck?  i mean, i'm not frail, right, so even when i'm sick and "weak", i've got -- or i feel like i should have -- sturdiness to spare.  but i'm now with the slightly wobbly knees and soon i'm going to have to tie my hair up and get it off my neck.

sigh.
fox: curling stones: i love this game (curling)
oh, no no no.  you boys need, as we say, some stuff, and oh, gosh, those last two shots (vice rocks, third end) weren't it at all.

[eta:  DEAR GOD, and a complete whiff with the hammer -- ack, ack, ack.  when your opponent is counting four and you have to hit and roll for one or at least to cut them down, man, you've got to make that shot.  ouch, ouch.]
