Praise whomever you praise: Scotland went away after yesterday's game and remembered how to make their shots. Norway were playing well today, especially in the first few ends, but Scotland were playing well too, and managed (eventually) to capitalize on a couple of critical mistakes. So Norway take the bronze, and seem from all appearances to be very happy with that -- there were big hugs all around at the end of the game this afternoon -- and Scotland are through to the gold medal match, having taken the long way around. I believe (and
flt does too, although neither of us is 100% sure) that Canada will have the last rock in the first end tomorrow, which may turn out to be to Scotland's benefit, as they steal better than they win. (On the other hand, the Canadians win better than they steal.) So, assuming both teams show up, tomorrow's game should be a good one. And I? Pointed out to the boss man yesterday that someone scheduled to work the game tomorrow is in fact leaving town today, and he double checked that I wasn't already scheduled for it and then put me in in her place. I'll be "Assistant On-Ice Observer", which means I'll sit in a chair on a carpet at the away end and not do a damn thing, very likely, unless the real observer has to leave for some reason (like an asthma attack, which happened to one guy the other day). In short, I'll have one of the very best seats in the building. Woohoo!
But I'm still not taking sides.
