So it turned out that the safety-inspection dudes had given me a sticker. Good thing I looked again at the sticker in the windshield before going down there, or they'd have given me that Look -- you know the one, the Look that says "You stupid white woman, do you ever even think about anything before demanding that someone serve you?" The thing is that there was a safety inspection sticker in the car when I got it back from my brother, and I'm sure it expired in August 07, which is the date on the one that's in the window now. So it's not my fault that the Virginia and Michigan stickers look so much alike. Anyway, I put the Arlington County sticker in there (which I'd have got a ticket if it wasn't displayed by Friday, I think), so I am all sorts of compliant. I also returned the spare cable box I've had sitting in my living room for over a month. Rock on.
Went to curling and played pretty well. And so did the rest of the team, including a spare at lead who was apprehensive about sparing on Wednesdays on account of the league is competitive and he's pretty new. We reshuffled the order, with KaHa.r agreeing to skip after all (but preferring not to if she doesn't have to), Skip B sparing for DoHo who would normally vice but playing skip tonight, self at second and meaning it, and Spare D at lead, and we were neck and neck with the team of BrBl, BoPe, HaCh, and HoGr all the way. We oned and two'd each other evenly for six ends, so we were tied, and then they stole two in the seventh, which was obviously no good, but on a fortuitous miss by BrBl (that is, he hit the rock he meant to hit, but not enough of it, so he moved it but didn't hit it out, and also he lost his shooter) we were in a position to win, and Skip B magically didn't come out narrow on his hit, so we took four. Yay winning! That hasn't happened to me yet in league play this year. :-) And now I have a bruise on the inside of my left arm, from the broom handle.
