Dear bus driver:
When three passengers in a row try to scan their SmarTrip cards and the reader does not recognize them no matter what anyone does, it is safe to conclude that it is the reader and not the cards that is not working. You may not, under these circumstances, refuse to allow a passenger to board whose card has sufficient funds but who has no change in her pockets to pay the fare in cash. You may not blame the passengers for the fact that your reader doesn't work. You may not yell at the first passenger whose card didn't work when she offers to summon the station manager to settle the dispute between yourself and passengers 2 through n with non-working cards. And once you've done all these things, it's not a good idea to drive the bus as aggressively as people tend to drive when they're angry.
signed,
passenger 2
Yeah, you'd better believe I'm on hold with someone to talk about getting that driver's ass fired.
On the up side, Bed Bath & Beyond coupons arrived today, and that's always good for me. Many of my neighbors don't horde these, silly people, so the scavenging in the bin by the mailboxes is always good.
[eta: Okay, so the hours to complain by phone are 8-5 M-F. Have instead submitted written complaint via website, and copied the text to the woman in front of me, who gave me her card and declared her intention to lodge a complaint of her own. Do not. mess. with me.]
