So I went into the kitchen just now to refill my soda, and on the way back to the couch I was sure I smelled gas.  Turns out that when I switched off the burner under my dinner several hours ago, I'd switched off the flame but not turned the dial all the way back to 'off'.  Fucker had been running, slowly, ever since.

I'd been coughing a bit, but no more than I would have just from the fact that it's winter.  I was going to be sure to take a little cold medicine before I went to bed.  Like that would have helped me.  Doesn't really bear thinking about, does it.  Ugh.

I just remembered this morning, when [livejournal.com profile] lexin mentioned it, that there have been another two fandom dust-ups lately, one involving someone 'fessing up to Not Having The Qualifications She Had Previously Claimed and one involving what I'm delighted to learn is now being called "Pseuicide", so my post last night about leaving the gas on could have been, you know, a whole Thing.

So:  I'm real.  There are lots of you who know it.  And if I'd meant to "accidentally" cause my own death with the kitchen stove, I'd probably have remembered to close the living room windows first.  ;-)  (Also I'd have set someone up LJ-wise who could tell everyone about it, rather than waiting for someone RL-wise to find me.)

fox: girl with a fan. fangirl. (fangirl)
Okay, still watching the show despite still not being in love with it.  But let me ask you this (which is without spoilers, if you ask me):  did anybody else think Ed Asner's big moment tonight had a conspicuous undertone of "Tell 'em Lou Grant said they could shove it", or was it just me?

:-D

(The rest of the show I could take or leave, apart from the very end, which I could totally leave, please, take it back, goddammit, Tommy, why you let him go do that shit.)
