fox: arctic fox: time to hibernate (hibernate)
Half an hour to dig out the car this morning. There was still snow under the ice, but the ice was a quarter of an inch thick, so it took some whacking with the scraper to get it off the windows. Fun times driving to work with the wind shear taking chunks of ice off the car and flinging them at the people behind me.

I was not remotely the only car enlivening the road in this fashion. Thing was, this was stuff that was firmly frozen onto the car in the morning. A mere mortal with a hand-held scraper couldn't have got the car into preventing-this-sort-of-thing shape. Fortunately, ice that is light enough to be wind-sheared off a car and fly through the air is harmless. It would hurt like hell if it hit, say, a person on a motorcycle; but it just shatters into powder when it hits a car windshield. Or, more often, the ground.

Roads weren't too bad. Heat wasn't working in my office when I got here. (Working now, but weakly. My coat is standing by.) No work to do! I have notes on what to do with some documents the boss wants me to do things with, but he hasn't sent me the docs yet. Do be do be do.

So! A meme. From [livejournal.com profile] cmshaw and [livejournal.com profile] ellen_fremedon, among others.
Give me one of my own stories, and a timestamp sometime in the future after the end of the story, or sometime in the past before the story started, and I'll write you at least a hundred words of what happened then, whether it's five minutes before the story started or ten years in the future.
My stuff is here, and at the moment I'm not going to put a limit on requests.
