i can has tech success
Jun. 10th, 2007 01:10 pmSo my computer has been telling me it can't start things, when I start up, because it's missing some .dll file or other. Also when I open PhotoShop, it says it can't open it because of a missing .dll file, although then it carries on opening it. It's more annoying than anything else, but I wanted it to go away. So I searched for the .dll files, found them elsewhere, copied and pasted them, and now I am getting no error messages. Hurrah.
However, the other night, I ran my dishwasher -- and when it was done, I opened it up and everything had a sort of film on it. Urgh, I thought, this must be because I mistakenly chose the "hot start" option -- not that I know what that means. So I ran it again, on a regular wash -- and when it was done, I opened it up and everything had the same film on it. ARGH, I thought. So I ran it again on Rinse Only -- and when it was done, I opened it up and F$#&(!*& *$(!@!
i have rinsed all those dishes by hand and put them away, and they're looking better now. But the next time I run it, on regular wash and not "hot start", if I get a film on all my dishes I'm fucking calling the front desk and making them get someone up here to repair the damn thing.

Jun. 10th, 2007 01:39 pmTwo Saturdays ago,
sanj came to Tysons to help me shop. I didn't buy anything, but there was Information-Gathering. Then yesterday, she came down again and I did buy things.
The haul:
sanj does an amusing hand-gesture to illustrate.)
Today, I am wearing a pair of jeans I haven't worn much in aaages (gracious, we were wearing waists higher when I was in college, weren't we!), and I'm going to go buy some milk and then come home and do some laundry. I think the alterations and underwear-buying will wait until at least Thursday, if not some date further in the future.

The haul:
- black trousers, for kicking my Concert Dress up a notch. Fabulous.
- white-on-white stripe blouse, because I've heard a rumor that Concert Dress for the summer involves white short-sleeve button-down with a collar (I know, wtf, right?). Pretty good, considering.
- camisoles in silver and red; buy one at full price, get the second for $5 (about 75% off).
- fabulous, fabulous skirt x2.
- another skirt, cuter than it should be, with a drawstring so it will continue to fit for ages.
- sleeveless faux-wrap shirt thing of grooviness. I got it in black, because they didn't have my size in red, but I'll keep my eyes open.
- extremely fabulous white linen trousers, with which I have finally achieved the royal-governor's-wife (or at least royal-governor's-sister-in-law) look.
- little black sheath dress, medium formality (not knit, but not for evening, if you see what I mean), in (bonus!) a size smaller than we would have guessed was right.
- RUBY FLIP-FLOPS. omglove. These are for wearing with the black dress, or really with whatever I want, because they are like ruby slippers only flip-flops, and I am elated to own them, plus they were on sale so they came in at less than fourteen bucks. HURRAH!
