I can never decide, in curling, when we lose a game we really felt we should win?, whether I want the team that beat us to win or lose their next game.  On the one hand, one sort of wants them to lose, because that'll teach them, right?  But on the other hand, and the sentiment that usually wins, is that we'd like to win the rest of our games and know that the only team that beat us went on to win the whole shebang.

But as I was saying to [livejournal.com profile] bethbethbeth the other night, baseball is nothing like as gentlemanly as curling, and I imagine that the Mets and their fans are not one bit sorry that the very next thing that happened to the Phillies was that they got -- and this has nothing remotely to do with curling [g] -- swept.

And also if your right fielder misses a ball that turns a base hit into a 3RBI triple.

Everybody can pull out a sweep except you guys?  Bah.  And Trotter Nixon:  DEAD TO ME.
