Five Fridays means three paydays. (Well -- five Fridays and the fact that the first one was payday means three paydays in one calendar month. There are months with five Fridays where the paydays are on 2 and 4, which is just no fair.) Which is the source of today's madness, really.
A few weeks ago, I was window shopping at Loft and did not buy this suit. Recently, they shifted from fall to winter, and the skirt -- but not the jacket -- went on sale. I was bummed by this, because when I observed that the collections had changed, I thought, okay, if I can get the whole thing for $100 or less, I'll do it. And now I'm looking at $180. But there are like three of each piece left anywhere -- in order to get both together in the right size, I've got to move sooner rather than later -- I can't wait for the whole thing to go on sale. Who knows if the jacket even will.
In addition to this, I'd found a differently groovy suit at NY&Co., a sheath dress with this jacket to match. Not free, but less expensive -- deservedly so, but still, you know what I mean? And there was some other stuff I was going to get there as well. And a promotion where if you buy something, the next thing is half price. I didn't buy anything there the other day because I also had a postcard-thing that came in the mail where I'd get $25 off a purchase of $75 or more.
After considerable dithering and consultation, I came to the conclusion that I was going to go to both stores, suck it up, invest in some clothes, handle it with the fact that there's an extra paycheck in November, and worst case scenario, I can raid the savings just a little bit.
