SCENE: La Guardia airport, 5:20 pm, Monday, 21 January 2008.

counter guy: Can I help you?
me: Let me ask you this, which is probably a long shot. With this ticket to Baltimore -- [brandishes boarding pass] -- is there any way you can punch some buttons and get me on that plane -- [points to plane] -- to National? ... Where my car is and it would make my day a lot easier?
counter guy: [punches a lot of buttons]
counter guy: [for, like, five minutes]
counter guy: You have any baggage checked?
me: Nope.
counter guy: [punches more buttons][hands me a new boarding pass] Here you go.

So instead of landing at BWI at like 8pm and waiting for

sanj to land at 10 and then drive me back ~~home~~ to DCA, I landed at DCA and drove home and got there at like 7:45. WIN!

i was so ... happy
