a successful day
Apr. 26th, 2008 10:20 pm1. Despite hellacious traffic owing to (among other things) a hellacious work zone at Penn and Kenilworth,
sanj and I made it to Distant Prince Frederick to hang out at the Celtic Festival of Southern Maryland with her sister and not-quite-brother-in-law. A lovely afternoon.
2. We then decided to do tomorrow's Tysons trip today, which is good because in fact today was the last day of the going-out-of-business sale at Lane Bryant, which was the specific reason for going there this weekend. She scored a fair amount of stuff for not much money.
3. I tried on some good stuff at Ann Taylor (and learned something about strapless dresses), and will be watching the website and sale racks for the good stuff to come down into an acceptable price range for things I like a lot but don't really need.
4. We also went hunting for new glasses frames, and in the second place we looked a fantastic pair leapt off the rack at me and were the hands-down winner, even after due consideration of several other pairs. They are awesome, and also (bonus) at a much better price than any of the just-okay stuff we found at the first place we looked.
5. Although three-on-a-part turned out to be complete folly, I am one of five first sopranos and
sadcypress one of four first altos on the "He shall give His angels" semichorus in Elijah. This is a semichorus of (not 24, admittedly, but) 33, out of 784231 approx. (okay, maybe not, but well up into the several dozens, out of a complete membership of about ... what, 150? 200?) who had expressed interest. Huzzah!
6. Got home just as the rain really began.
7. Spare keys arrived in the mail from
datlowen. Huzzah!
All in all: win!
