back among the living

Up to New York yesterday with jgesteve on account of Forbidden Broadway is closing in January.  Got off to a timely start, but no kidding, we'd been trundling along for about half an hour when I said "I know the last time I went this way it was dark, but I really don't recognize any of this", and it turned out we were over by Andrews AFB and had missed 95 N completely.  [facepalm]  Got to J's sister's place, headed into the city, matzo ball soup for dinner, found two copies of an out-of-print play college roommate K and I saw years ago and have been looking for ever since, saw the show, a successful evening!  Back to the house, spent the night with block-of-ice toes because the (ahem) housemate prefers not to heat the house almost at all.  Ah well.  Back on the road early this morning, home in my own place which is also not exactly an oven.  About snack time, methinks.  Oh!  And on the train I discovered a minor but disastrous-to-me error in the knitting several rows back, and I have now fixed it with no lingering mistakes.  Yay.
