pod people
Oct. 16th, 2009 10:21 pmSo both on Wednesday and (even more so) tonight, director R was full of fiddly detail-y instructions for the orchestra, but didn't have a lot to say to us besides occasional volume controls. Tonight he was even correcting the soloists, which like never happens. But us, we are apparently sufficiently rehearsed? and he is satisfied with our work? I don't know how to handle this.
And on Wednesday, Chorus Master T came up to give us notes and what he said was "good night." !!! And tonight, he said we sounded great; he'd come in with a critical ear toward us and only had one page of notes, which he could give us at call time on Sunday, and good night. That is to say: Chorus Master T let us go on time or even a little early for both dress rehearsals. This is unheard of. Not that I'm complaining, mind you! But it can't just be that we did well. Something else must be going on to put him in this beneficent mood. (If you know what I mean, and I think you do.)
