Monday I came home from work early with a migraine. Yesterday it still hurt but I was able to function, so I went in, and by the middle of the afternoon I realized my jaw is tense in the old familiar right side - I knew my right shoulder had been knotted up, and sure enough it's radiating all everywhere. Up the back of my neck, over to my jaw, around my right eye. Sigh. Not that I can't play through it, but I don't like it. I'm not unusually tense or upset about anything so I couldn't work out why I should be dealing with such awful muscle tension now particularly.
Granted I did just come off a very busy Easter week. But I slept that off Sunday, I thought. However: I'm also taking a week off the pill, on account of it seemed like a good idea for reasons - and although I took a muscle relaxant last night because the shoulder-and-neck thing was really out of control, this morning that particular area is a little better but wow, everything hurts. It's not like the cramps I used to get as a teenager, but it's certainly wringing I haven't had in a long time. ... So maybe that's it.
