ugh.

Moving is so awful.

We are in the new place and entirely out of the old place. Had some lawn guys come in and handle the mowing and weeding, and did all the priming ourselves. Right now I'm choosing to assume that the reason we haven't heard from the property manager yet about our security deposit is that it's coming back to us in its entirety so he has nothing to discuss. (He said he'd contact us by today at the latest, but I'm not entirely surprised that he hasn't.) The painting and cleaning took almost all week - ten hours on Sunday, in which I hurt myself with the repeated crouching down and getting up as we taped up the window frames and baseboards (after two days of running up and down the stairs with the movers). It was pretty well better by Wednesday, thank goodness, but for two days Himself drove me to the metro rather than me walking.

Now it's a lot of homeowner stuff. We unearthed the pruning shears, so Himself did a trim of the pair of bushes at the end of our walkway (which were encroaching) and the overhanging bits of the neighbors' greenery. We've replaced one blind and three doorknobs and were about to replace a shower head when it turned out to be an older type that is no longer standard - so now we're going to have to replace the whole shower arm. I'm also set and ready to take down the shower doors and put up a shower curtain rod. (There are more blinds to be replaced as well - it's just finicky work so I've only done one today. We'll need to order some bigger ones, also.)

So much unpacking remains. Ugh. But we've got some things done today, and Only Connect is back on the BBC, so we watched that. And now we're watching Commonwealth Games field hockey, because why not. In the commentator's accent, "position" and "possession" sound just the same.
