The latest in the parade of cancer coming for people close to me is an uncle on my mother's side (married to my youngest aunt). It's in several abdominal organs by now and it doesn't matter to him where it began. Inoperable. He's chosen to forego treatment, having seen what my dad went through for a year and what his own mother went through for two years. My mom was there earlier this week helping out (witnessing their wills, helping to arrange hospice care, etc.).
Nobody knows how long this will last. But 2016 is sure dealing a lot of crap, isn't it.
