fifteen months
Mar. 6th, 2018 10:21 amThe Friday before last, the prince was fifteen months old.
He can walk and almost run. He understands language and mostly tries to do what we ask, but of course his impulse control is still that of a toddler. ("Sit back in the high chair so we can fasten the buckle, please." [baby lunges for the strawberries on the table]) He is using more and more word-like syllables himself. He has four molars almost all the way in so he's biting and chewing his food and less and less patient with the time it takes us to cut things up for him. :-) Right now he's in a super carb-loading phase; he barely wants any meat at dinner but he will eat pretty much all the pasta we put in front of him. We're limiting him to about three teething biscuits a day because they're basically cookies and we don't want to create a sugar monster, so other times he will gorge on Cheerios or burger buns (toasted or not). Assume this is a growth spurt; he will still eat cheese and vegetables and plain yogurt, so it's not that he insists on things being sweet (and the pasta often has a spicy sauce on it, which doesn't seem to bother him even when his face is bright red).
