misery. [eta: it loves company. trillian's up and running. anyone want to come tell me funny things to make me feel better?]

on amoxicillin since saturday. felt like it was doing some good. the Tell-Tale Signs of sinus infection were disappearing. but then this morning, i woke up in agony. agony. not so much the sinus-pressure mask, but everything else that could hurt, did. iron-vise-style headache with occasional stabbing pain behind right eye. weird raspy cough-thing making voice sound like lauren bacall (itself not a bad thing). pressure in the right ear. no dizziness, but occasional loss of balance. feeling weak; had to hold milk carton in both hands to be sure i wouldn't drop it. sort of stiff in the neck. ugh.

i had two classes today (in which i'm a student, i mean), and i ditched them both -- the 9:30 to go back to bed, and the 2:00 to go back to student health. (i did teach my 3:30 class, and i have no idea how i mustered the superhuman effort required to hold my head up and not crumple to the floor in tears.) good news: not mono. also no evidence from the blood work that the bacterial infection is running amok. bad news: seems just to be something viral that i'll have to wait out. grr.

have tylenol, sudafed, and a new prescription. yay, T3. i hear good things about that stuff. shouldn't take it for another couple hours, though.

send her reams and reams of credit-card offers. this is especially effective if you're a company that treated her badly in the past.

capital one keeps sending me all kinds of crap. actually, they keep sending it to my father, but at my address, which is a big ol' mystery. "Dear Mr. Fox," this one says. "In light of your established credit history," blah blah blah.

i'm sending the whole package back to them in their pre-paid Business Reply Mail envelope, with the following cover (in all caps, which i'll spare you):
Four years ago you bait-and-switched me on a Platinum Visa application. My credit history has nothing to do with you. I have never responded to anything you've sent me, and I don't know where you got the idea that my father's name should be on mail coming to my address. I require you to remove me from your mailing list immediately. There should be no mail coming to any Fox at [four-year-old address], [three-year-old address], [two-year-old address], or [current address], until the next time one of us requests that you send something -- and I don't see that happening soon.

Leave me alone.
Fox
felt good. i recommend it.
