no shit. 4 am.
Apr. 17th, 2004 04:05 amokay, so the medicine just isn't getting taken tonight. i'm going to fall into bed in about ninety seconds.
a little after 4:00 this afternoon, i said to my boss, i have three related facts i'd like to report to you, and a conclusion to draw from them, if you have a second. he was just then eating his lunch and said Sure, go ahead. so: the system is still down, i said; i don't feel very well; and [his boss] wanted us each to be sure to do five hours of overtime this week, and i've already got thirteen. so do you think it's okay if i split?
his eyes got a little wide, and he said -- and i quote -- "Oh, absolutely. Get the hell out of here."
so i came home early, which was nice, and lay down, and slept peacefully for an hour and a half. this was a very good thing. headache was gone when i woke up.
had a bit of dinner, went up to the club, curled the first game in the meltdown -- which was a bloodbath. we were in it until about the fourth end, but kept on not getting points, and the final score after seven ends was 9 to 1, so we bagged it -- nobody was playing like crap, but you wouldn't know it by the results. anyway. everyone is (for now) having fun, despite the crack-addled draw, so that's a good thing.
was at the club until, no fooling, 2:30, talking to FW and SM and BW and RC. came home, read e-mail, remembered that i'd forgotten to put my stuff back in my locker, so the folks arriving in the women's locker room for the 8am draw are going to be greeted with my curling clothes and shoes in a heap on the floor. tacky. sent an apology to the e-mail list.
am worn-out exhausted, but in general feeling better than i was this afternoon. probably still not as well as i should be feeling, emotional-fragility-wise, but at least not like things would be a damn sight better if only i could have a good cry.
