the good news: i continue, according to the scale in my parents' house, to be lighter each morning than i was the morning before. tiny bit at a time, but still.

the news that will no doubt be excellent in another five or ten years: folks at my high school declare that i look the same as i did ten years ago.

the excellent news: i have a black dress i can't remember wearing since october of 1998. for a long time it hasn't fit at all. today, it almost -- within a quarter of an inch -- fits again. it's a matter of weeks. yay!
