scaling back.

So yeah, I have just -- with regret -- left the choir that sanj and denis77 and I were in together.  I was missing too many rehearsals and way too many services, and it wasn't fair to anyone, really, to make them keep expecting me without knowing if I was going to be there on a given week.

In a way I'm glad it ended this way; at the beginning, I was incredibly frustrated with the thing a lot of the time -- it was like remedial choir, I remember saying once.  Three hours of rehearsal, on two different days, for a combined fifteen minutes or so of music in each service felt excessive to me, and I was becoming bored and resentful.  But this Thursday, we actually started rehearsing ahead, doing something for next week, and omg the concept of building a repertoire!, but this morning I woke up with a nasty migraine and couldn't go in and that was that, really -- I had to call myself off.

But I'm glad I'm sorry to be leaving, rather than relieved.
