today's Tech thing

But I've been hearing on the radio where Jim Moran isn't sure if he's going to go, because -- and I can't find a cite, but I'm quoting as directly as I can remember from repeated plays of the clip -- he says "I don't see the point of going if you don't have something constructive to offer". Which, the rest of the thing makes very clear, what he means is that he doesn't want to be in the way, just go down to pay lip service, etc. etc. etc. I don't want to create any confusion: that's what he means, and it's unambiguous.
BUT.
If I worked for him? I'd say "Congressman, I recommend you not say 'don't see the point' and instead say something like 'not sure what I could do to help'." You know?
