My new favorite online retailer is Piperlime, where I got my Birkenstocks for 10% off the list price (other discounts were "available" elsewhere, meaning they were advertised but only seemed to have in stock improbable sizes and unfortunate colors, so the availability of the discount -- $115 shoes for $70, so it would have been nice -- was irrelevant). They arrived while I was gone, but I only ordered them on like Thursday, so that was pretty speedy. And the box contained, in addition to shoes and a packing list and instructions how to return if I felt the need, a little packet with a mailing label for that purpose! I've known other places to do that, but not in so easily-identifiable and classy a manner. Huzzah for Piperlime. They will get my online shoe-buying business in future. (Note that I placed my Old Navy order on Monday, and I got the shipping notice from them the same day as the Piperlime shipping notice, and the stuff has still not arrived. Grr, Old Navy. Normally you are better than this.)

The sandals themselves, I adore. It was not a mistake to buy them, after all these years of craving. Oh, hurrah. [happyfox] Before too long you might even see me buying shorts (!) and actually allowing my skin to get some sun. Fox ≠ cadaver. No, it's true!
