here's actually my question about the top of the tenth:

Why were the first and third batters not just automatically out because of the infield fly?  Do I just ... not understand the infield fly rule?  Okay, maybe the third one was on a cusp.  But the first, had it come down, would have landed on the pitcher's mound.  Dude.

Looks like they're having some issues with gnats at the ballpark, though.  Welcome to Cleveland, fellas.  It's Indian summer.

listen closely: i shall only say this once

I think the Yankees got a raw deal on this hit-batsman thing just now [in the bottom of the tenth, game still tied, with two out and runners at the corners, so the hit-batsman call loaded the bases].  The color commentator is saying it doesn't look like the batter tried to get out of the way; I thought it didn't look  like he even knew the ball had hit him.

i said earlier to tangleofthorns, "i don't understand why they swing at bad pitches."

BUT THOSE ARE MY BOYS.

Travis Hafner spent the whole season wearing a t-shirt under his jersey that said "I'm not smart, but I can lift heavy things."  MWAH.

(I still think the DH is a stupid rule.  But if they're going to have a Designated Hitter, he might as well hit the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the eleventh, right?)

LOFT

I bought this skirt today.  I will wear it with a red sweater I've got and some cream tights I think and my lovely brown boots I got last weekend.

I did not buy this suit, even though it was awfully cute and looked great with this top, because I have three suits and a job where I don't need them.  Because tragically, I don't have two hundred dollars to spend on completely unnecessary cute.  Tragic.  I will keep me an eye on the sale racks, and also keep an ear to the phone so I can talk to someone about seasonal retail employment, because for real, y'all, this is like a Loft addiction I have these days.
