challenge - day 2
Mar. 15th, 2008 01:53 amCouple of blowouts today. We quit hanging the score along about the fourth end in the first game, but it was something like 12-0 after six (we stole five in the first and one or two in each of the next five ends); they got one in the seventh and still didn't concede, so what could we do but play the eighth, in which we took one or maybe two. Don't know. We also stole the living crap out of the next game, in which they took two in the sixth and shook. (For the record: I made a great hit in the fourth, and a great draw in the fifth, in which end my team had kind of disastrously set me up for a four- or five-point fall, for steals of I believe one in each instance. That must be why the skips get paid the big bucks.) Definitely playing on Sunday (so,
jgesteve, um, unless we make another plan in the interim how about I pick you up at Greenbelt around 11? ... only because I don't know if I'll hear my phone ring; better if you call the club and ask someone to find me, I think), but to be in the Big Final we have to get through the other Really Tough Team first -- and why is it the toughest game is always the fracking semifinal?
abka is being a doll and running my hosiery-procuring errands for me tomorrow morning. MWAH!
In related news, just as the mailbox key cannot be relied upon to open the locker, it is good to remember that the locker key will not open the mailbox.
Anyone know (
juice817, I'm looking at you) how much is a postcard stamp? (I may just say fuck-it and use an old 39-cent letter stamp.)
