virtue is its own reward
Jun. 7th, 2008 11:14 pm[points to subject line] When they say that, do you think they mean each virtue, or just general good behavior? I wonder if it matters. It's sort of what Leo McGarry is talking about, right?, when he says "fake it till you make it" -- the reward for (to take one example) having faith is ... getting more faith? I think that's bunk, at the moment, and for sure it's not especially true of (to take another example) patience.
I think I'm going to have another beer, maybe two, and go to bed. Really the only solution to my evening is for Saturday to be over. It will be Sunday when I wake up, and I'll watch Doctor Who and finish the sock in the morning.
