Voice mail today confirming that I am permitted to rent the apartment in question at a rate I can afford, so WOO-HOO!, I am moving to Silver Spring* on July 26.

Stay tuned to be recruited to help me schlep things. I know where a number of you DCfolk live. [looks around with eyes narrowed]

*and thus leaving Virginia, alas, but dudes, the 50-mile round trip every day was killing me, even at $2.99 a gallon, because of the time sink. You know?
