I am woefully behind on the knitting. I took it with me to Pittsburgh and then didn't touch it, so I needn't have bothered. I have now finished 30 blocks and begun #31. That's out of 55, remember. Here is the customary charty list thing:
Blocks in complete afghan: 55
Blocks completed as of this evening: 30 (which you'd think would be 54.5%)
Actual percent of work done: 55.166666666...
Target date: August 17
Today's date: July 10
Days remaining: 37, by my calculations, less a few for shipping
Blocks remaining: 25
Blocks per day to stay on target given 37 days: about two thirds of a block; blocks are of different sizes, so this means a different amount of work each day, but I'm not prepared to do more math right now [g]
Blocks per day to stay on target given, say, 30 days: .83333...; also, this assumes can work on the thing every day, which I can tell you right now won't really be possible - but can do a whole block in an evening when it's a small square, sometimes even when it's a rectangle, and can do more than a whole block on a weekend day e.g.
The thing is still looking very good, but I am as you can see off the pace. I've pretty much got to do as much as I can every day for the next four weeks. A whole block when it's a small square, no worries; but the large squares take omfg forever - six of the remaining blocks are large squares. (One of which will be for tomorrow.)
Odds of project being finished on time: um, good. Let us keep our fingers, needles, etc. crossed!
