weekday update

1. We went to the final! in our bonspiel this weekend, and almost won the damn thing, too. We gave up four points in the fifth end, and we lost by four (or three or even two if you count the points we'd have been able to get in the last end, which we didn't bother getting because there weren't enough rocks left - although the opponent would have played the last end differently if the score had been closer). So in every other end it was neck and neck. Bummer. But all in all, given that the four of us went "Sure, I'd like to play. Wanna?" and had never all played together - in fact I believe I'd curled with our second once before and our lead not at all - coming second overall is a damned good result.

2. Yesterday was crazy cleaning day, in which I did laundry and (finally, finally, after many months) vacuumed. It was almost a religious experience. My place is not as spotless as I've been known to get it, but vacuuming after all this time, my god, I can't even tell you.

3. It was also the Day of Stoicism, in which I went back to the allergist for intra-dermal allergy testing - having been scratch-tested last Tuesday. This hurt more during the doing of it, but didn't itch as much while they let the allergens fester. Only now today I have varying sorts of angry welts all up the insides of both arms.

4. IRB training now. This is supposed to go on for hours. Oh joy.

5. I had another thought, but it's gone now. Anyone?
