GODDAMMIT I WANT MY POWER TO COME BACK ON SO I CAN GO HOME AND RESUME MY NORMAL LIFE.

Ahem. Not that I'm not enjoying my enforced exile chez [personal profile] wordplay et al. But ARGH.

[ETA 2pm approx: Huh. Apparently that was all it took. Pepco just robocalled to say they'd fixed the damaged equipment and to ask if my power was restored; and as I couldn't give an answer without investigating, [personal profile] wordplay drove me home and I did so and HURRAH. Packing out now. This family is awesome, can I get some support on that?]

When I returned home to MY APARTMENT WHERE THE POWER IS BACK ON OMG YAY, my car had been very slightly plowed in to the carefully dug-out spot where it had been living since Sunday; so I dug it back out again and then came inside to sit in the WARM APARTMENT and WATCH TV because these things are, you know, possible now. I felt it was important to do this before the next twenty inches of snow fell.

It's been snowing for a little less than four hours now, and pretty heavily at that. Work is closed again tomorrow. I might spend a little time digging in case I need to be able to get out on Thursday. In the meantime, let's all think happy thoughts for my electricity. We are hoping that the decision not to strip the guest bed at [personal profile] wordplay's will somehow prevent my power from going out, although one must admit that Murphy's Law is not retroactive - washing your car to make it rain doesn't work. Hmm.
