snOMG is a good name too

I woke up at about 6:30 this morning and looked outside and would have sworn it had stopped snowing. And maybe it had lightened up; but when I woke up the next time and looked out the window in the daylight, I saw that it was just because the snow was so fine it was invisible but filling the air. Looking at the parking lot now, it's pretty clear we're on our way to wondering why we bothered spending all that time digging on Sunday. Sigh.

WE'RE NUMBER ONE

The snow total for the winter of 2009-10 is now at 54.9", which tops the previous record of 54.4". That record was set in 1898-9 - and was recorded somewhere in the city rather than at National Airport, since obvs. the airport didn't exist at the time, and the totals are always lower at DCA than kind of anywhere else in the area (making it a mysterious choice for the official measuring spot), so in fact the total increase over that 1898 record is even greater. We're very proud.

University is closed again tomorrow. That's a solid week, y'all, as it began last Friday. More evidence that these really are the end times.

I just saw an Olympics commercial featuring curling! It was awesome! Yaaay soon there will be curling on my television!
